for people with better things to do

Your lecture was two hours. This is ten minutes.

Same content. Same exam. A fraction of your afternoon. We watch the two-hour lecture so you can go outside and remember what daylight looks like.

No credit card. No commitment. No attendance sheet, no guilt, no 8am.

What you do with the time you get back

Nap without negotiating

A genuinely unbothered afternoon nap, taken in daylight, with nobody's syllabus whispering at you. Undefeated.

Actually go to the thing

The campus event you keep seeing posters for. The one your friends go to while you reread slide 47 for the third time.

Walk around the library

Not to study. Just to walk around it, look busy, and leave. An underrated pastime and a strong alibi.

Do the actual exercises

The unglamorous one. Nobody has ever passed by rewatching a lecture — you pass by doing problems. This buys you the hours to do them.

how people actually use these

Four ways to use a ten-minute video

These don't replace your lectures or your notes. They give you the shape of a topic fast, so the hours you do spend go on the parts that actually earn marks.

Before the lecture

Ten minutes beforehand and the lecture stops being a wall of new words. You already know roughly where it's going, so you can follow the argument instead of frantically copying slides.

Straight after

You sat through it. Watch the short version the same day and the ideas settle while they're still fresh, instead of evaporating by Thursday.

Stuck on an exercise

Half the time you're missing one specific idea, not the whole chapter. Find it in a couple of minutes and get back to the problem, rather than rereading forty pages hoping it appears.

Revision week

Run the whole course back-to-back in an afternoon to find the gaps, then spend your real study time on those. Far better than rereading everything evenly and hoping.

The honest version: watching is the easy part. These exist to free up time for the exercises, which is where the marks actually come from.

The maths, for the spreadsheet people

Cheaper than two sessions with a tutor who cancels in week nine. Dramatically cheaper than doing the semester twice, which involves the tuition, the rent, and a phone call home you will remember forever.

they always cancel. always.

strictly better than both. it is not close.
